In 2012 and 2013, I rode in the BC edition of the Ride to Conquer Cancer. In 2013, I rode with the Mack Kirk Cycling Team. The picture above is our motley crew, at the end of the ride.
I decided to skip the ride this year, in order to focus on the creation of my new law office, and spend a bit more time with my family. But even though I’m not riding, I encourage you to support the event and donate as much as you can afford.
I am a big supporter of the BC Cancer Agency and the BC Cancer Foundation. My dad was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia in 2011, and fought cancer for 2 years before passing away in November 2013. The medication and treatment my Dad received was a direct result of research conducted by the BC Cancer Agency, and funded by the BC Cancer Foundation – so I know first-hand how important it is support the work that the Foundation does.
For anyone interested in donating to this event, the main web page for the event is www.conquercancer.ca. I’m not supporting anyone in particular this year, but if you want to donate to the Mack Kirk team, you can go directly to their team page by clicking here.
